Raw Meaty Bones, a species appropriate dietRaw feeding mimics the way a wolf would eat in the wild. It is also referred to as a "prey model diet", where 80% of the diet comes from muscle meat, 10% comes from raw bone and 10% secreting organ, such as kidney, liver or thymus.
At mealtimes, our English Jack Russell Terriers are routinely offered raw chicken wings, chicken legs, turkey legs, turkey wings, beef ribs, pork necks, chicken backs, stew beef, oxtails, ground turkey, liver, kidney, hearts, tripe and/or raw hamburg. They are also offered fruits and vegetables such as pumpkin, green beans, bananas, apples and blueberries as well as dairy in the form of goat's milk and yogurt.
The benefits of including raw meaty bones in their diet are enormous and include: clean healthy teeth and gums, little to no doggy odor, decreased veterinary bills, neck, shoulder, and jaw muscle development, and satisfaction for your English Jack Russell Terrier puppy. Dogs like to work for their food and raw meaty bones allow them to indulge their need to chew and process their food the way nature intended.
